“My father is Dominican and I have family that have had their lives turned upside down and inside out by hurricane Maria. This fundraiser is just a small step in helping the islanders to recover from the disaster, all exhibiting designers will donate 20%+vat to the official

Dominica Hurricane Maria Relief Fund.We plan to host the event every couple of months so we can continuously donate to such a worthy cause.

Janet Charles, Acting High Commissioner London added:
‘After last year’s tragic events we have seen the pain and destruction suffered by many families and businesses first hand. The community as a whole has pulled together and we have had support from those in surrounding islands as well as abroad assisting our people in the immediate aftermath. People are beginning to shape some kind of future for themselves. But as the story fades from the international media it is important that people continue to show their support. Places like Elizabeth James Gallery who are hosting regular fundraisers in support of Dominica really do help make people aware of the need that still exists whilst raising much needed funds, Thank you.’
