Elizabeth James Art recently exhibited 5 pieces from the Colour in Motion series at Gordon Ramsay’s 7th restaurant London House in Battersea Square, London.
London House is the first of Ramsay’s restaurants south of the river and opened on 4th February 2014.
Elizabeth's Colour in Motion series was recently exhibited at the ‘Works on Paper Art Fair’ at the Science Museum in London and has been exhibited in Italy, Portugal and Spain.
The series explores Elizabeths lifelong fascination with water. Colour in Motion captures the characteristics of water under different circumstances, with her approach to this subject being varied and often experimental. As an artist Elizabeth has spent many years exploring and observing closely its many varied forms it adopts in different circumstances.
Capturing her findings has allowed Elizabeth to study and record Colour in Motion, its transforming shapes and colours as it freely takes on its own direction and tones. The colours themselves carrying little or no commitment to the ebb and flow of the water as it takes on the body of life; taking us out of our sphere influence and bringing others in to it.
